Creating a Google Brand Account

Creating a Google Brand Account allows others to manage some of your Google properties for you – namely Photos and YouTube. This means you can assign outside users – like us at AttractionEngine – to safely manage aspects of your YouTube platform, like making uploads.

Creating a Google Brand Account isn’t difficult, but it’s a little cumbersome and lacks some intuitiveness. Here are the simple steps to get it done.

  1. Visit YouTube and sign in in the upper right with your Google credentials – whatever you normally use to sign in to use Google services like Docs or Sheets.
  2. Once signed in, look on the left side of the YouTube page and scroll down to Settings. It’s near the bottom of the page.
  3. Inside of Settings, click the link Add or Manage Your Channels.
  4. Click the large button with a “+” in it that says Create A New Channel.
  5. Now, finally, you’re invited to create a Brand Account by naming your Brand Account and choosing Create. It’s a good idea to name your Brand Account the same as the name of your company.
  6. After you’ve created your Brand Account you’ll see a change to the YouTube page – now instead of the user icon in the top right being your initial or image, you’ll see an icon with the first letter of the Brand Account name you chose.
